Damage from flood waters during the 1997 Reno Flood compromised the dam forming Herman Pond located in the eastern portion of Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.  Gray & Associates took on the responsibility of designing a repair and re-construction plan for Herman Dam.  The project included: design of a new drain, new outlet structure, repair of a breach in dam, toe cutoff trenching at the toe of the dam and silt removal from the pond bottom.  Also included was an underground storm sewer system to replace an existing open ditch.  Gray & Associates provided the Washoe County Public Works Department with plans for demolition, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, grading design and structural analysis and design.
